ClarusIPC Software Delivers Enhanced Security Reporting for IP Telephony

Latest Release of ClarusIPC Operations Also Features Improved Testing for Large IP Telephony Deployments

VOICECON FALL, SAN FRANCISCO - (August 22, 2006) - Clarus Systems, Inc., a leading provider of IP telephony productivity solutions, today announced that its ClarusIPC® Operations software delivers enhanced security reporting to prevent critical IP telephony security risks such as unauthorized access and toll fraud. The newest version of ClarusIPC Operations also features improved automated testing of large IP telephony deployments to maximize system performance.

"IP telephony networks introduce security vulnerabilities never seen with legacy TDM networks," said Brendan Reidy, Clarus Systems CEO. "With ClarusIPC Operations, customers can identify and diagnose security risks and other operational issues before they occur. The automatic, daily system 'health checks' conducted by ClarusIPC help our customers realize the potential of their enterprise voice systems."

ClarusIPC software automatically tests and validates all user functionality on an IP telephony network to identify problems before they impact business. ClarusIPC is the only solution that enables the industry best practice of daily, end-to-end testing of every phone on the network, even for very large deployments. Since its launch in March, ClarusIPC Operations has been increasingly adopted by systems integrators and enterprises to accelerate network deployments and reduce operations costs of enterprise Cisco IP telephony environments.

With the latest release of ClarusIPC Operations, customers can now proactively prevent security problems caused by incorrect or malicious configurations of the IP telephony security settings. This is achieved with automatic or ad hoc reporting and verifications of the security settings for all the phones on the network, including a phone intrusion vulnerability report. Additionally, ClarusIPC Operations maintains knowledge of IP phones registered and unregistered to the Cisco CallManager and reports any changes in status, which can be a critical indicator of an unauthorized intruder.

ClarusIPC Operations also features new capabilities for automatic system health checks of large IP telephony deployments. These health checks can be automatically stored for later review or published to internal IT portals and Intranets.
