Empowering Unified Communications…

Clarus Systems Launches Re-Branding Campaign and Sets Stage for Voice Quality Monitoring and Performance Management Capabilities

ANAHEIM, Calif. - (July 24, 2007) - Clarus Systems, Inc., a leading provider of integrated management and testing solutions for IP Communication deployments, upgrades and transformations, today re-launched its brand under the umbrella of “Empowering Unified Communications” at the Networkers at Cisco Live annual user conference. Designed to better reflect and reinforce Clarus Systems’ strategic focus around Unified Communications, the company unveiled a new logo, collateral materials and a redesign of its web site – www.clarussystems.com.

“We fully understand the intricacies associated with IP Communications and realize that ‘time is money’ in regards to speed and accuracy of deployment,” said Brendan F. Reidy, President and CEO of Clarus Systems, Inc. “Our re-brand will educate the market on the criticality of management and testing applications and the concept of empowerment to help enterprises optimize IP Communication strategies for enhanced productivity, VoIP ROI and a sharpened focus on core business operations.”

Clarus Systems premier application, ClarusIPC®, is leveraged by enterprises, systems integrators and managed service providers to support the lifecycle of Cisco Unified Communications, from deployment through ongoing operations. ClarusIPC® is scalable and offers remote certification, configuration analysis, and troubleshooting - further validating operational integrity while building the foundation for a Unified Communications network. ClarusIPC® is the only testing solution endorsed by Cisco in the Best Practices guide, "Steps to Success."

According to Mr. Reidy, the new web site will highlight benefits to enterprises as well as a new packaged program for Cisco Channel Partners, Systems Integrators, and Managed Service Providers. “We have dedicated a new section to our site that addresses the respective pain points of these target groups directly,” added Mr. Reidy. “This valuable content will provide our partners with the tools to communicate the value of transforming business processes to their end customers and help them leverage the combination of ClarusIPC® and Cisco Unified Communications by offering them an array of online resources at their fingertips.”

As further testament to its collaboration with its channel and technology alliance partners, the new packaged program will address the following areas:

  • Improve resource utilization through remote testing and certification
  • Increase customer satisfaction and productivity
  • Reduce unnecessary site visits through 100% proactive functionality validation
  • Reduce time and costs with automated testing
  • Accelerate deployment timeframes, sites, and cutovers

The re-brand will also leverage the synergies between Clarus Systems and Cisco to answer increasing market demands, including:

  • Differentiated implementation approaches
  • Managing larger engagements
  • Implementing management best practices for customers
  • Generating additional profit with little additional cost
  • Receiving added points for Cisco Partnership Status
  • Freeing staff from tedious reporting and routine testing tasks and help retain key resources
  • Improving cash flow through solid “As Built” documentation

In line with the re-branding effort, Clarus Systems will introduce enhanced IP Communications monitoring and performance management capabilities, including voice quality monitoring and alerting. Launching in the fall, the new solution will use custom-defined policies to monitor poor voice and overall call quality, incorrect call routing, dropped/rejected calls and suspicious calls. A recent report from Aberdeen titled Network Transformations: Managing Transitions for Growth, published in May 2007, notes that only 36 percent of enterprise organizations with best-in-class solutions have the ability to monitor voice quality.

“As we chart a new course in our corporate history with this strategic re-brand, we look forward to the potential market impact of this groundbreaking performance management capability,” concluded Reidy.

"VoIP certainly looks inevitable. User surveys put the number of organisations in the UK using IP telephony seriously at between 25% and 40% - with an expected increase to 85% to 90% in the next two years. Indeed, voice services are by far the main reason behind organisations moving towards converged IP networks, according to the latest annual survey by the Communications Management Association (CMA). It found that 60% of managers cited VoIP as the primary reason for network convergence. In a separate question, 73% said VoIP was a key element of their collaboration strategy - up from 63% last year."
