CLARUS LAUNCHES NEW VOIP TESTING SOFTWARE FOR THE ENTERPRISE

ClarusIPC Operations Lowers Costs and Helps Ensure High Availability of Enterprise IP Telephony Networks

VoiceCon, Orlando, FL - March 7, 2006- Clarus Systems, Inc., the leading provider of automated testing and reporting solutions for IP telephony systems, today launched ClarusIPC® Operations, a new version of its proven voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) testing software designed specifically for mid-size to large enterprise IP networks. Through automated, end-to-end testing down to the individual phone level, ClarusIPC Operations can accelerate network deployments, reduce operations costs, enable remote trouble shooting and aim for maximum availability of enterprise Cisco IP telephony environments.

"IP telephony has become a vital business solution, cutting costs and allowing for voice and data convergence," said Brendan Reidy, CEO of Clarus Systems. "However, the complexities of deploying and managing these networks can often be challenging, leading to issues with availability, scalability, and costly testing and maintenance .ClarusIPC Operations helps organizations fulfill the promise of VoIP by systematically testing and validating all user functionality in an IP telephony system. There's no other solution on the market today that offers such comprehensive testing and assurance for business-critical IP networks."

Clarus IPC Operations: Active, End-to-End IP Network Testing
ClarusIPC Operations is the only IP telephony testing and management solution that delivers active, end-to-end testing of the functionality of each phone on the enterprise network, throughout the entire network lifecycle. By automatically and systematically testing and validating all user functionality in a Cisco IP telephony system, ClarusIPC is the only VoIP management solution that lets organizations conduct the decades-old industry best practice of a nightly health check of the entire telephony environment. ClarusIPC Operations gives organizations unprecedented visibility into their IP networks, providing vital information and assurance. ClarusIPC Operations features include:

  • Deployment and operations configuration verification
  • Automated, scheduled and customized testing
  • Automated, standardized reporting
  • Certified integration with Network Management Systems
  • Remote troubleshooting of individual and group phones dispersed over broad geographic areas
  • Trouble identification and isolation tools for the enterprise help desk.

George Hamilton, senior analyst at industry research firm Yankee Group, commented, "VoIP is becoming the standard voice platform in the enterprise, but due to a lack of resources, technical know-how and confidence, many organizations are not gaining the full potential of their IP networks. By providing automated, comprehensive testing throughout the entire network lifecycle, ClarusIPC Operations can help companies get the most value from their enterprise VoIP deployments."

Verified to Meet Cisco Test Criteria for Interoperability
ClarusIPC software has been verified by an independent third-party test lab to meet Cisco Technology Developer Program test criteria for interoperability with Cisco Unified CallManager 4.0 and 4.1. The Cisco Technology Developer Program sets criteria for interoperability testing and enables leading product and services firms to deploy innovative business solutions.

"Cisco supports open, standards based architectures and shares a commitment to interoperable solutions with Clarus Syst ems, who has become an important player in the growing market for IP telephony testing and reporting," said Rick Tywoniak, marketing manager, Cisco IP Communications Business Unit. "With Cisco Technology Developer Program partner offerings such as ClarusIPC software, enterprise customers now have access to a solution tailored specifically to meet their testing and validation needs."

Blair Simmons, director of Information Technology at Menlo College, underscored ClarusIPC's value: "ClarusIPC has enabled Menlo College to fully realize the benefits of our Cisco IPT deployment. Proactive nightly health checks with ClarusIPC keep administrative IP phones functioning properly, and there is increased visibility into and satisfaction with the campus IP environment."
