CLARUS SYSTEMS ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL EXPANSION OF EXECUTIVE TEAM; CONTINUED MOMENTUM WITH NETWORK MANAGEMENT EXPERTS
Richard Whitehead Promoted to CTO as Robert Bond Joins Board of Directors
SAN FRANCISCO - May 10, 2004 - Clarus Systems Inc., a provider of enterprise Internet Protocol (IP) communications management software, today announced the promotion of Richard Whitehead to Chief Technology Officer, as well as the appointment of Robert Bond to its Board of Directors.
Previously Vice President of Technology, Whitehead will continue his tenure at Clarus Systems as CTO, building on his 22 years of experience in the communications and network-management technologies industry. He formerly served as VP of strategic technologies for Micromuse, a top provider of software for management of IT and telecommunications infrastructures, and led the company's competitive intelligence path, formed key partnerships, and drove business development and product strategy.
"Richard's rare level of expertise and deep skill set will be critical to our continued development of new telephony management tools for converged data and voice networks," said Keith Giarman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Clarus Systems.
"Companies migrating to IP Telephony should be cautious of vendors that don't have expertise in the IPT domain claiming to offer management solutions," said Whitehead. "Clarus' solution is the only one I've seen that is aimed squarely at IPT adoption and identifying management challenges at the end-user level. Fundamentally, we're enabling companies to easily implement and manage their IPT systems."
In addition, Clarus announced that Robert Bond has joined the Clarus Board of Directors as an independent director. A private investor, Robert also serves on the Board of Directors of DecisionPoint Applications and KLA-Tencor Corporation, while also advising development stage companies. Bond has been a private investor since February 1998 and from April 1996 to January 1998 served as Chief Operating Officer of Rational Software Corporation. Prior to that, he held various executive positions at Rational Software Corporation. Bond also spent 16 years employing his marketing management skills within Hewlett-Packard's computer group.
